Akbuk, Turkey - We've got it covered

Offering blue-flag beaches, a stunning mountain backdrop and overlooking the clear waters of the Aegean is the up and coming area of Akbuk. Rapidly becoming a 'hot spot' for UK and foreign investors, it's current affordable land and property prices and stunning location mean it is an excellent option for those looking for property lightly to rise quickly in value.

Akbuk is located between Bodrum, Altinkum and Didim. In comparison with these areas nearby, it is largely unspoilt by tourism although recent visitor figures suggest the area is attracting much attention hence property prices increasing rapidly as a result. As is the case throughout Turkey, Akbuk is close to a wealth of historical sites and areas of natural beauty, Bafa Lake and the Apollo Temple to name but two. It is within easy access to the thriving resort of Altinkum offering a fabulous selection of cultural and social activities, restaurants, shops and bars. For those that are health conscious Akbuk is also purported to have the highest oxygen ratio and the lowest humidity in Turkey making the climate pleasent with a refreshing breeze even during the long hot summer months!

For those first visiting Akbuk you can't help but marvel at the location, the lush green forest, crystal clear sea and lovely beaches. The ground is fairly level, making it perfect for those with mobility problems and also for building. There is a building restriction that states only bungalows or two storey properties can be built in the area so you are never going to get those high rises obstructing your view making it a desirable location on the coast. We are expecting that this area will increase significantly in value in the coming years and end up one of the most affluent areas along the Aegean coast in the not too distant future. The government has imposed guidelines to ensure that 85% of the land in Akbuk remains as green area and that a low building allowance of just 15% is abided to strengthening its investment potential even further.

If you are seeking a well priced option on the coast that will rise in value and gain a healthy rental return in future years, Akbuk should certainly be a consideration. For lovers of peace and tranquillity coupled with breathtaking views, this is definitely the place to be. Although not a thriving tourist resort yet, Akbuk offers a charm and a feel of real Turkish living and of money to be made for those that take the opportunity to invest now.

Akbuk At A Glance:

  • Akbuk is located just 70km from Bodrum Airport and lies conveniently between the Altinkum and Bodrum highways
  • In 1991, Akbuk separated from Altinkum and Didim to become a 'Fevzi Pasa' or township in it's own right and has grown steadily ever since
  • Akbuk is an up and coming area and a tipped highly by real estate specialists as a good area for investment where properties are available at affordable prices compared to other coastal areas of Turkey
  • Once a small fishing village, Akbuk remains decidedly traditional in feel yet is now rapidly becoming a popular tourist resort with visitor figures rising year on year meaning great future rental prospects
  • The area of Akbuk appeals not only to UK investors and visitors but also to the Turkish, French, German and Scandinavians creating a decidedly cosmopolitan feel
  • Akbuk is great for those with mobility problems or those looking to get around easily due to the location being relatively flat
  • The area offers great beaches, mountain and forest views and a growing number of bars, restaurants and shops so there's plenty to keep you occupied!
